Welcome to our Family-Community Resource Center!

FCRC Logo

Learning can be difficult when students’ basic needs aren’t met. The goal of Family-Community Resource Centers is to help all children succeed, and we do that by removing barriers and connecting families with available community resources.

Help can come in many forms: anything from student homework help and school supplies to health services and dental care, clothing, food, emergency housing, job assistance, early childhood education, assistance with GED preparation and more.

Call us today at 360-313-1904. We are here to help.

What’s happening in the FCRC

Share food bags

Share graciously supplies Hough Elementary with food bags to help families with food over the weekend.  These bags are filled with easy-to-prepare food.  Packs may include: a protein, a grain, canned beans or soup, a boxed meal, a vegetable or a fruit and a snack.  Food bags are distributed to students each Thursday.

If you would like to receive a weekly food bag from Share or would like more information about this program, please contact Ashley in the Family Resource Center at 313-2107.

Lunch buddy program

In just 45 minutes per week, you can change a child’s life! Become a Lunch Buddy and you’ll have weekly lunches with one or more elementary students who may be experiencing changes at home, having difficulty in school or needing a positive role model in their life.

Hough’s Lunch Buddy Program runs on Monday through Friday between 10:40AM – 12:15AM

Classroom attendance competition

Classrooms compete for the highest attendance scores every month! Attendance stars are awarded everyday to classrooms who have 90% or better attendance, whoever has the most stars at the end of the month wins.

This initiative gets our Hawks working as a team to combat chronic absenteeism.
