Dear Parents,

What a wonderful first month of the school year. It is so hard to believe that we have already hit the month of October. As you know, safety was the character trait that we focused on in September. We now will move to the next trait and focus on friendship. Please continue to support us as we teach these character traits to our children. Next Wednesday, we will have our success assembly, where we will celebrate the growth we have made in September and talk about our new October character trait.

I have really enjoyed keeping in contact with you through the newsletters and writing the Love and Logic words of wisdom. If you are interested in learning more about Love and Logic, let me know, as I would love to put some training together throughout the year if there is interest.

Before we get too far into the year, I want to put a reminder out on the importance of good school attendance. With the tremendous rigor of Common Core Standards and classroom instruction, missing school can have quite an adverse impact. Please share with your child the importance of being here each day.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me at Steve.Vance@vansd.org.

Sincerely,

Steve Vance
